+ Can I simply set up the SOLAR in my business premises?
In many business premises, a straightforward connection to an existing exhaust system is possible. However, there are also situations where this is not an option. In the past, this often meant installing an elaborate exhaust system associated with additional requirements and maintenance.
This is where the AVIRNAKI comes into play. This mobile composite filter unit is designed to accommodate the shop roaster. Smoke and odours produced during roasting are extracted, filtered and the filtered air is then released back into the room.
In short: Yes, in combination with the AVIRNAKI, the SOLAR can also be operated in suitable business premises without a direct chimney connection.
+ What are the advantages of independent in-store roasting?
1. Quality
One thing is clear, regardless of the brewing method: well-made coffee tastes good. Roasting coffee in your own business gives your product its own quality signature. It sends a clear and visible message to your customers that you take good taste seriously and have made coffee an integral part of your product range.
As in restaurants or bakeries with visible production areas, you can process the raw material in front of your customers and later sell the finished coffee by the cup or packaged for brewing at home.
2. Freshness and maturity
One of the key factors is the maturity of the roasted coffee. By roasting on site, you can provide your customers with freshly roasted coffee and respond to specific requirements at short notice. With the SOLAR, the next batch is only a push of a button away.
3. Product costs
Green coffee generally costs less than ready-roasted coffee. Roasting your own coffee also gives you the opportunity to determine the green coffee, roast profile and product presentation yourself and to develop your own coffee brand.
+ Is the shop roaster loud?
Believe it or not: it is quieter than a conventional microwave.
+ How does automatic roasting with the SOLAR work?
The SOLAR consists of various precisely coordinated components. Three electric heating elements are positioned around a perforated roasting drum. The integrated control board and roasting software control the roasting process. Unlike many systems that primarily use time as a reference, the WEBAroast shop roaster uses temperature as the reference for controlling the roast.
During roasting, the SOLAR uses four different types of heat transfer: conduction, convection, radiation (infrared radiation) and thermosiphon heat.
The WEBAroast shop roaster combines drum conduction and hot-air convection during roasting.
During the roasting process, the SOLAR activates a fluid-bed roasting phase for exactly six seconds every two minutes. A radial fan installed beneath the roasting chamber is activated, compressing the air in the drum and directing hot air into the coffee-bean bed. This helps compensate for differences in bean size, density and moisture content. The shop roaster is therefore suitable for roasting both single-origin coffees and blends of different green coffees.
+ Who should use a WEBAroast shop roaster?
The WEBAroast concept is designed for businesses that want to roast their own coffee and expand their existing product range.
WEBER shop roasters are used in many areas of the food retail sector, including cafés, bakeries, coffee-bar chains, training centres, speciality retailers, food retailers and supermarkets.
In short: wherever coffee is to be roasted on site and offered as an in-house product.
+ What exactly does “automatic” mean in connection with the WEBAroast shop roaster?
Our roaster has its own permanently installed roasting control software. The machine simply needs to be connected to a suitable power outlet. The complete control system is integrated into the housing, so no additional computer or extensive cabling is required.
The roast profile is selected using clearly defined settings and the roasting process is started at the push of a button. The roasting process ends automatically and is followed by cooling in the drum.
+ How much coffee can I produce with the SOLAR shop roaster per month?
The roaster can be used for continuous roasting. Many of our customers roast up to 200 kg per month with the SOLAR.
The SOLAR can also be operated for extended periods, provided that the instructions for regular cleaning and care are followed.
+ Do I need to be a coffee expert to roast my own coffee?
No. Our sales team has many years of experience with coffee. The WEBAroast shop roaster is particularly suitable for users who want to produce their own coffee without first having to acquire extensive roasting experience.
The manufacturer, Coffee-Tech Engineering, has continuously developed and refined the WEBAroast shop roaster over many years.
The automatic control system allows defined roast profiles to be reused for subsequent batches. Our team also provides expertise and support with selection, setup and operation.
+ How often does the SOLAR need to be serviced?
The WEBAroast shop roaster is developed and manufactured by Coffee-Tech Engineering, a family-owned company based in Israel. Its design focuses on reliability, durability and straightforward maintenance.
The SOLAR is designed to require relatively little maintenance and to be easy to service. Some replacement parts that may be required during its service life can be replaced directly on site. Illustrated instructions and videos are available for this purpose.
If more extensive repairs are required, special transport cases and loan units are available to help keep downtime to a minimum.
Regular care of the shop roaster is an important part of its operation. Components that need to be cleaned at defined intervals are designed so that they can be removed, cleaned and reassembled within a short period of time without special tools or advanced technical knowledge.
+ For which applications does WEBER recommend the WEBAroast shop-roasting concept?
The WEBAroast shop-roasting concept is suitable for businesses that want to roast coffee themselves in front of their customers without having to rely on many years of their own roasting experience.
There are two key challenges in coffee roasting:
Manual roasting of small batches requires experience, attention and time.
Another challenge is consistently reproducing a previously defined roast profile. The SOLAR allows defined settings to be reused for subsequent batches, helping to achieve reproducible roasting results.
